Digital engineering expertise recognised at manufacturing awards as Paragon seeks hat-trick of wins

Paragon Toolmaking is delighted to have named as a shortlisted finalist at the Business Insider’s 2022 Made in Yorkshire Awards, in the category of Digital Engineering Expertise.

If successful on the awards night in March, it would complete a hat-trick of leading industry awards within the space of 12 months.

Last year Paragon Toolmaking was successful in the Manufacturing Apprenticeship / Training Scheme Award at the Made in Yorkshire Awards, and the Training and Development Award at the 2021 Hull Live Business Awards.

The latest shortlisting means Kevin Batty, General Manager of Paragon Toolmaking, and colleagues will be donning their dinner suits once again at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds this March, and he says he is delighted to see the business being recognised in a category many may wrongly assume it would not be relevant to.

“This is further great recognition for the modern, digital engineering expertise we have at our business, and it is interesting to see that the other finalists specialise in work such as the development of cloud-based apps, 3D printing and web-based tools,” he said.

“Whilst many may view a 50-year-old tooling manufacturer as a traditional business using traditional methods, nothing could be further from the truth, so this is a great way recognition of that.

“Our constant investment into the latest technology over the years has been key to our success in continuing to be chosen to supply bespoke tooling solutions to many of the world’s leading manufacturers and first-tier suppliers.

“We have a reputation with customers across the world for using the most advanced manufacturing technology, and as our tools are frequently designed to suit any automation process used by customers, we repeatedly demonstrate our ability to adapt, learn, and stay at the forefront of digital engineering methods.”

Recognition helps spread word to new potential customers

Mr Batty says he has been delighted with the repeated recognition over the past 12 months, exposure which has helped introduce the business to new customers.

“We’ve had a good year in which we’ve been able to get in front of some new customers who have been pleasantly surprised by the experience and expertise we offer,” he said.

“We can pretty quickly demonstrate our ability to use of some of the most advanced manufacturing technology on the market to produce the highest quality products, at the very best long-term production costs.

“Technology has changed over the past five decades, but the world of business hasn’t. Customers always want more for less, and the systems we have in place ensures we can offer cost effective solutions which many rivals, especially those abroad, cannot match.”
